Summative Portfolio Part B: Blog Response:

The social issue I chose to base my summative on was the waste from the nuclear fission industry, focusing on the general lack of a long-term solution for the radioactive material produced. The message portrayed through this work was to be that our generation is handing down a long-term, unsolved problem to the next generation, without much thought on how it will affect them. It stems from a personal belief that I hold saying that humans tend to only work towards solving tangible problems.

The creative process of this piece involved little research, brainstorming, thumbnail sketching, and full-sized sketching. I conducted a few Google Image searches to brainstorm ideas for my social issue, but once I had chosen, a viable image/idea was set in my mind. This idea I carried through until the final copy, with few changes being made along the way.
